BROOKLYN (August 22, 2016) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will tip off their inaugural 2016-17 regular season schedule on the road against the Windy City Bulls on November 11, and will host the Canton Charge on November 23 in the team’s home opener at Barclays Center.
Long Island’s 50-game schedule includes 24 home games and 24 road matchups, as well as two games that the team will play as a part of the annual NBA D-League Showcase in January. All 24 of the team’s home games this season will be played at Barclays Center in the afternoon.
The team’s home schedule includes four three-game homestands, with two falling in the month of January. Long Island’s road schedule includes a season-high stretch of six consecutive games away from Barclays Center beginning on February 22 at Grand Rapids and ending on March 8 at Oklahoma City.
This season, the Long Island Nets are slated for five back-to-back sets, which include the first two games of the season on November 11 at Windy City and November 12 at Canton.
The Long Island Nets will join the Delaware 87ers, Erie BayHawks, Greensboro Swarm, Maine Red Claws and Westchester Knicks in the D-League’s Atlantic Division within the Eastern Conference.
