Long Island Nets Acquire Prince Ibeh, Waive Lazar Hayward

BROOKLYN (Feb. 8, 2017) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired center Prince Ibeh off waivers. Long Island has also requested waivers on forward Lazar Hayward.

Ibeh (6’10”, 245) joins the Nets after a four-year collegiate career (2012-16) at the University of Texas. As a senior, Ibeh was named the 2016 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. In 135 career games for the Longhorns, he recorded averages of 3.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 13.1 minutes per game while shooting 55.7 percent from the field (157-of-282). Ibeh also appeared in four games for the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2016 NBA Summer League team.

Hayward appeared in 20 games for Long Island this season, recording averages of 12.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 24.3 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Long Island in the 2016 NBA D-League Expansion Draft.
